Many Punjabi families abroad use their trips home to finish dental treatment. Good planning makes the difference between a relaxed visit and a rushed one.
Start before you fly. Send photos, any recent X-rays and a description of your concern on WhatsApp. A video consultation lets the dentist suggest a likely plan and the number of visits needed.
Book your first appointment for the first or second day after you land, so there is time for follow-up visits. Root canals with crowns, veneers and bridges can usually be completed within one to two weeks. Implants normally need a second trip for the final tooth after healing.
Ask for a written treatment summary and copies of your X-rays before you leave. Your dentist at home will find them useful.
Keep a few days free at the end of your trip in case an adjustment is needed. Then enjoy the rest of your visit.
